Cooking With Eggs
An egg is a round or oval cell obtained from any number of different species, most commonly birds, which has been eaten by mankind for millennia. Most edible eggs consist of a protective, oval eggshell, the albumen (egg white), the vitellus (egg yolk) and various thin membranes. Every part is edible, although the eggshell is generally discarded.

Eggs are considered a good source of protein and choline. [Choline is a water soluble essential nutrient. It is usually grouped within the B-complex vitamins] Because of this, the egg falls in the Meats category under the Food Guide Pyramid.
